A ten-minute daily typing routine

A simple, repeatable plan for a busy day.

Minutes 1–2: settle in

Adjust your chair and keyboard, relax your shoulders, and find F and J. Type a familiar exercise slowly. Use the warm-up to notice tension, not to chase a record.

If you are returning after a break, spend the entire session on familiar keys. Consistency matters more than jumping immediately to a difficult lesson.

Minutes 3–6: learn one thing

Choose the next lesson in your path. Focus on its new keys and follow the finger-position tip. Pause when you notice yourself guessing, and rebuild the movement slowly.

Repeat the exercise if you need to. A completed lesson is a milestone, but a comfortable movement is the real goal.

Minutes 7–9: practice what was difficult

Open weak-key practice after saving a result. Your missed keys will shape the exercise. Work through it carefully, keeping the same hand position you use in normal writing.

You can also paste your own short paragraph into custom practice. Use text you have permission to copy, and avoid private information on a shared device.

Minute 10: check in and finish

Take a short test with the same settings you usually use. Notice your accuracy and compare the result with your recent sessions. Write down one small focus for tomorrow.

Then stop. A routine should fit your day. If ten minutes is too much, try five focused minutes and build from there.

Put a little learning into practice.

Start with a guided lesson, or try a one-minute test.
